This is my first attempt at a drabble. Maybe some of you know those bitter tasting tinctures one applies to the thumbs of infants to get them to stop sucking their thumb. It's of course harmless but tastes very bitter.

Summary: Amanda tries to make Spock give up a childlike human habit and gets paid back for it :)

"You must not do this Spock-kam. It will give you bad teeth," Amanda said while applying the tincture to the thumb of her young son. "This will help." As soon as she released the hand of the toddler, the child stuck his thumb back into his mouth. His face bunched up in bewilderment when he noticed the bitter taste of the tincture. Amanda averted her gaze to escape the heart-rending plea in the dark eyes.

Three days later she finally replaced her toothpaste and toothbrush. She couldn't explain it but somehow the current tasted odd.

The child smiled in secret.
